Who we are

Playtopia Toy Store ("we", "us", "our") trades from 184 Sunbeam Avenue, Portland, OR 97201. You can reach us at hello@playtopia.com or on (415) 555-0182.

Orders and acceptance

When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we accept it — which happens when we send your dispatch confirmation, not when you receive an automated order receipt. If we cannot fulfil an order (an item sells out, or a price was listed in error) we will contact you and refund you in full.

Orders may only be placed by adults aged 18 or over. Our website is intended for parents, guardians and other adult gift-givers; children may browse and use the Kids' Corner, but ordering requires an adult.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars and include any applicable taxes where stated. Where a delivery charge applies — typically on large furniture — the exact amount is confirmed with you before your order is dispatched. We may change prices at any time, but the price you pay is the one shown when you complete checkout.

Payment is taken by card at checkout and processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Any sales tax that applies to your order is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.

Delivery and risk

We aim to dispatch within 1–2 business days and delivery typically takes 3–5 business days, but these are estimates and not guaranteed dates. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, contact us and we will put it right at our cost.

Returns and cancellations

You may return unused items in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, and we cover the return label for US addresses. Faulty or damaged items are not subject to the 30-day limit and are covered by our guarantees: 5 years structural on furniture, 12 months on non-structural parts. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Gift cards

Gift cards are issued in US dollars, are redeemable online and in our Portland store, and do not expire. They cannot be exchanged for cash and are not refundable once issued, except where required by law. If a purchase exceeds the card balance, the difference must be paid by another method.

Play visits and events

Booking requests made through this website are enquiries, not confirmed bookings. A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted it in writing and any deposit has been paid. Children attending a play visit or party remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian or supervising adult at all times, except where the session is a school or nursery group run under that organisation's supervision.

Our content and liability

The text, photographs and design on this website belong to us and may not be reproduced without permission. Product photographs are representative; natural wood varies in grain and colour, which is a characteristic of the material rather than a fault.

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, but we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, and disputes will be handled by the courts of that state.
